I've only been to GXS once, and that was for DAT5...and that was because I could only stay for 4 hours on the second day.

Maybe sometime this summer I can take a college day and whiz by to see what's going on.

So we got the beatmania core mix machine from Ho, the coin mech was junk...

We got the coin mech working and all

Then we realized the volume of DDR was to loud for it to be next to it....so we moved it.

I freaking love this game....I may end up putting my whole paycheck in it...lol.

not 100% sure, the way it came I guess, I do know though when selecting mods for the games you can play in the center so if it 1 player you are playing with the player 1 turntable and the player 2 buttons.

I did that today on Beatmania Final.

That is the way original 5-key beatmania is. Both 1P and 2P controls are the same with keys on left and turntable on right. Beatmania III was also this way. Only IIDX has the two players' controls mirrored from one another.

Incidentally, the song Sana Mollette is from beatmania. I have been told that one of the lines in the song translates to "He is not left handed."

well we cleaned up the whole machine as best we could, I was about to take out the buttons and clean those up but there are to many wires and I was affraid of screwing up the wiring but the buttons felt fine so no real purpose to do that, I also cleaned under the turntables and wax paper modded them so now they spin REALLY well. ^_^ Enjoy it people, play some mad core mix.

It had already been cleaned...and they spun just fine...

I'd be more afraid of the gunky buildup that will result from the wax surface on the wax paper than I ever would be of a missed scratch from the behavior of them before, especially since they really did work just fine.

The only thing that was really wrong with that machine was the two key lights (which are actually stuck on, but are unplugged so they never light). I have the parts to fix them, but didn't have a chance to get them installed before the machine got moved.
A normality test:
+++ATH
If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

I would have to agree. I think the wax paper mod is unnecessary and likely undesirable on arcade hardware. That machine didn't get complete overhaul that my IIDX cabinet did, but it did get cleaned up to where there shouldn't have been any gameplay issues. Arcade turntables (IIDX or 5-key) are naturally a little stiffer than KOC turntables if for no other reason than they are built with heavier parts.

well if you think that...I will take the wax paper off tomorrow, I thought it felt overly stiff and I had a hard time turning it when I played but if you think I should do that then I will take it off.
