Well, what type of pad are you using?

Konami apparently sold "manner mats" for their original pads since housing in Japan is a bit more dense than it is here (understatement of the century). They apparently amounted to the thick, dense foam inserts like you find in an ignition.

i bought maxx2 with that came with an extrememly thin pad it has hardely any foam in it. I tried putting a thick piece of carpet i cut out under it but it didnt help much , i also have hardwood floors if that helps any

My suggestion would be to get an Ignition from RedOctane. Not only are they the absolute best soft DDR pad you can get, they're quiet too.

Are you on the ground floor of your house or apartment? I've found there's little you can do about shaking the floor unless you play in the basement. Of course, I'm using a cheap, thin Mad Catz myself. ;)
