TnT in the Fort has Supernova. They upgraded it from Extreme. Everything is on sync and I even got a AAA on a song I've never played before.

Is it a whole new machine? I didn't think they did upgrades from Extreme.

But regardless, hell yes! It'll be awesome to come home to, is it still $0.50?

You're very wrong!!! It IS NOT a new machine. I've played on TnT's machine since they've had it. Any other person who's knows TnT's machine like I do would say the same thing. So whatever you heard or think you know, you can scratch it.

EDIT: I'll take pics just for you tmrw and let the fellow Fort Wayne community confirm it. Also, whoever is a member of DDRfreak, plz update!!

you don't have to call me totally wrong I am going by what I heard from Ho and Brandon and what those stupid arcade magazines say, because DDR Supernova is running off a modded PS2 and there supposedly other things different about it...they said that you can't upgrade the game from an old cabinet.

Actually, last I heard they were supposed to start sending out regular old upgrade kits for old machines last week. So it is possible that the machine is an old cabinet with Supernova in it now. Given the nature of Supernova's hardware, though, that upgrade kit would be probably be something a bit beyond installing a CD and new marquee.

Was I the only one picturing the scene from "When Harry Met Sally"?

Betson, when SuperNova was announced to the operator community, stated that initially only new cabinets would be available. It was later revealed that this was due to difficulty acquiring the new system hardware. The hardware is fairly new and very popular in Japan (it runs DDR SN, DS Fusion, GF V/V2, and DM V/V2). There are lots of new machines being made for DDR SN as well as lots of DDR/GF/DM machines that still need to be upgraded. They had expressed interest in eventually releasing upgrade kits for older cabinets but were unable to acquire sufficient stock of hardware at the time to do so.

As far as hardware upgrades, this would be the most involved upgrade to DDR ever. Even the 2nd->3rd mix conversion was just a new (very, very souped up) IO board. From what I've gathered, it's also a fairly expensive upgrade, though I'm not aware of a firm actual price. I suppose I could call up Betson and ask...

Psht, as far as I know I had records on that Extreme machine from like... three or four years ago. So sad.
