For those who aren't already aware, I love the Halo series to death.

With every detail I read about Halo 3, I grow more and more excited for its release. I am stoked. Check out this ad, which aired last Monday during Monday Night Football.

Holy hell. When master chief took off in a sprint I couldn't help but imagine how badass this series is. The new shield will add a whole new dimension to the game, too. Will this be what the X-button's new use? Or will it be to sprint?

Anyone else looking forward to this as much as I am? Comments?

Very cool trailer. I just hope that bungie has come to their senses and made the campaign in this game worth it. I may be just speaking for myself here, but no one seems to care about the crappy campaign mode bungie fails at on the Halo games... I dunno, IMO it was a total joke, but multiplayer, that's a different story.

I think that the trailer was a total letdown...yeah it was cool and stuff, but I had read all the hype and what BUNGIE THEMSELVES said about it (i.e. that it was going to feature both CGI and live gameplay, and that it would have some stupid-cool music) and they didn't fulfill anything. The trailer was all CGI (not to mention half of it was taken up by those stupid kids talking) and there were like 2 seconds of the same old music at the end.

On another Halo 3 note, all of you who have 360s, don't forget to register for the multiplayer Beta (out in spring '07) at http://www.halo3.com . Site opened up yesterday about an hour before the commercial, probably full by now, but it's worth a try.

Didn't you know? They took out all multiplayer options and online play, and they took out most of the guns so now you jump on aliens' heads.

I kind of agree. Although the game appears to be an "excellent" game, compared to games that long-time gamers have experienced, Halo is nothing. All the hype in Halo2 about "DUAL WIELDING ZOMG THIS OWNZ!" was ridiculous. Anyone who has played 007:Goldeneye for 64 would laugh at this. If you seriously sit down and take a glance at it as a game (Halo) with no background / fanbase, it really isn't that great. The story line[campaign rather] (as i said before) is a total joke. The ONLY good thing in Halo to be honest is the multiplayer, which is nothing new. Seriously, jumping men in spacesuits with rocket launchers.. original. Lots of other shooters have had a horrible story line and an excellent multiplayer, but it's fanbase wasn't large enough to over-hype it as Halo has been over-hyped.

Maybe some of you are looking at me now as an anti-halo Nintendo loving freak, but that's the complete opposite... at least the Halo portion. xD

It's true, Dan. Halo didn't do much new, it was just advertised more than most fps's.

I know that it's nothing revolutionary, and that it's "crap" compared to a lot of "better" FPSs, but, bottom-line, it's more fun than anything else to play on Xbox Live, and that's all I care about. And even if it's not the best FPS, don't come in here into a thread about it and just say something retarded like "halo is a joke" with no points to back anything up, and sounding like you're just trying to be insulting.
