Jesus Christ Superstar
If you're in the mood for something completely different...
Come see yours truly in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar. This is a rare chance to see me singing and dancing in a non-Bemani context...missing it will no doubt exclude you from a multitude of opportunities for humor at my expense!
Last week was actually opening week, but I didn't think to post about it here. We have one more weekend of shows left if you'd like to come check it out:
Wayne Township Community Theater presents
Jesus Christ Superstar
June 21-23 @ 7:30
June 24 @ 2:30
Ben Davis High School
1200 N Girls School Rd.
enter south door #2
Tickets at door are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $7 for students.
Let me know if you think you might show up and I can come out in the lobby after the show to say hello. I'm not a major enough role to bother wandering out in the lobby unless I know there's actually someone there to see me. Just give me 5 minutes or so to take off costumes and makeup.

I knew someone was bound to make the “Thespian” joke. It’s inevitable. Very ironic, though. I was going through my mail/magazines this morning (was tired yesterday) and found my “congratulations” letter from when I was inducted into the Thespian Society. Then I looked up, and saw you were in this production. Sounds cool.
I’ve never seen JCS, but I’ve heard it’s kinda cool. The plays I have been in (for high school, middle school plays aren’t serious) are “Fools,” by Neil Simon, about a town of dumb people, and “Brush Up Your Shakespeare,” a play comprised of 30 or so mini-Shakespeare scenes...
...it probably had the lowest attendance rate at NPHS ever.
Truth be told, it was kinda fun, but only in the interesting scenes. I mean “interesting” in the sense we put certain scenes into certain adaptations. I got to be Othello in...well...Othello, in the scene where he kills his wife.
The cool part was that we set it in 1930’s Chicago mobstyle, so instead of Latin warrior, I was wearing a pinstripe suit and top hat, with red shirt and tommy gun. I got to kill my wife by trying to smother her with a pillow, then pulling out a gun and shooting through the pillow.
I’m awesome.

Our school did something like that, it was called "The Compleat (sic) Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)" and it had all sorts of scenes from different Shakespeare plays, with a comedic twist, which, I believe, included something with reciting Hamlet backwards and some sort of Shakespeare rap...

I have that same feeling whenever the performances come. I never want to act again, but 8 months later...I'm getting ready for it again. It's definitely a love-hate relationship.Ho wrote:Part of me is ready to be done. Another part of me knows I'll miss it.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend today.

Oh, I've quite enjoyed the experience and I would be interested in doing something like this again.
It's just that we've been at this for 4-5 days per week for nearly the last three months. It's been quite a strain on my already extremely limited free time. So it's not that I'm turned off to theater...it's just that I'd like to have some time to relax before jumping in again.

I always make it a point to completly forget everything after a show is done...Jeff Jeff Revolution wrote:I have that same feeling whenever the performances come.
