There are people these days on the internet that have not, and will not ever hear a modem speaker dialing & handshaking.

Well, my guess is that youve never heard the song like musing of a punch card reader whirring through 10,000 punchcards to boot up an OS. (you thought a modem handshake was annoying)

Or the wonderful clicking and clacking of 5,000 relays at a phone switching station.

Considering that Potter has a nice compy set-up, I think he is talking about high-end graphic cards making a game so much prettier.

Just a speculation though.

That would be why I followed up the text base with a BITCH, cause I knew you were trying to show off that you had a good computer.

Text base is how games are "supposed" to be played, cause it's oldschool, not kickass graphics, anyone can go to a damn store and play those.

I used to play Comm 64 at my friends house.
He had a working one up until like 3 years ago. Not sure if he still has it or not, I haven't talked to him for a while.

hmm... anyone remember A Mind Forever Voyaging?

5.25" floppy boot disks (to load the command prompt OS) (these were the days when PC's didn't all have hard drives we all know and love)

the Apple Mac Classic II?

monochrome monitors?

and yeah, i remember the punchcards. i worked at a job that did tape backups, that had a machine that used that good old card language.

Actually I was just talking about those on Team Speak today. I said All they can hold is a hot dog and two cookies, because I use them for plates.
