No no no this is from the Japanese version of Sonic CD which had an almost entirely different soundtrack for some reason. All the "past" songs stayed the same but the future/present songs were *vastly* different. I think the past songs were in a different audio format and that made it difficult to change them so they were left the same - I could be misremembering that though..

Internet consensus is that the JP version is "better" but I think it's hit or miss. Stardust Speedy present is definitely wayyyy better in the JP version for sure though.
