The Gorillaz are coming out with a new album on either May 3rd or 23rd (heard 2 seperate dates). Will be called Demon Days. I am a little indifferent on how I feel about this, because neither Dan the Automator or Del the Funky Homosapien are involved. Dan was replaced with Danger Mouse (who, while talented, has a pretty different production reperatoire), and Del was replaced with De La Soul (who I also do admire as MC's, but I just totally love Del.. :\ ) I've got a pretty low quality version of their supposed upcoming single, "Feel Good Inc." It's a pretty bad ass song :) Though I'd be lying if I said I was holding my breath for the new album.

Also coming out this year is Coldplay's junior release, X&Y. It'll be coming out June 6th (I believe). I've been a big Coldplay fan for some time so I am quite excited about it. I'm really hoping though that their enormous fame over the last 2 years hasn't really influenced or changed their songwriting.

I belive it's the 23rd. I saw posters in Chicago for 'em, but I diden't know what it was for. I figured it was a concert or something, since all it had was a graphic and that date. Danger mouse is involved now?! SWEET.

Awesome, new Gorillaz. It only took 'em a million years.
Signatures sure are awesome.

I dunno, I think their songs are kind of annoying, but I don't really make fun of them.
However, classic rocks, well, rocks. :D

It's a pretty low quality recording unfortunately, but it's the best I can find.

Gorillaz WAS Dan and Del. Hmm, not sure how Danger Mouse will replace Dan and I think Soul will do pretty good. Maybe they organized this when they were doing Handsome Boy Modelling School.

Interesting...

Well apparently they did want to involve Dan, but he just didn't have enough time I guess :\

Also, I guess De La Soul isn't the only MC guest. The guest list is actually fairly extensive. It includes Ike Turner (yes, THAT Ike Turner), Neneh Cherry, Martina Topley-Bird, Roots Manuva, the Happy Mondays' Shaun Ryder, Bootie Brown from the Pharcyde, the London Community Gospel Choir (heh, that'll be interesting), MF Doom and Dennis Hopper (yeah, the actor...) all feature on the record.

And just so youre not confused, Damon Albarn is still involved, and I believe Kid Koala as well. Not entirely sure though. So, it's still a Gorillaz album, just under different production and MC'ing.

The gorillaz will be totally different without dta and del. I will check out the new one, which so far I think is going to be pretty good. Sure, it wont have the same feel as their old albums- but do you really want another "gorillaz vs. space monkeys"?

Ok, new Gorillaz is out. Verdict everyone?

I'm not gonna pass judgment as I only picked it up today, so I need a weekend for it to soak in.
