Green Tea wrote:ooh I know another song that kinda has crossovers (I think)... Holic! (my first AAA) \(^o^)/
Holic? Not that I know of. I do that all the time. I think it's a pretty constant song...no crossovers...just a little off beat. lol. Well...maybe off beat isn't the word I'm searching for....but it's like unlike any of the other DDR songs I think. I think Holic was like the first thing Mike passed on Heavy. w00t.

I think the first thing I passed on Heavy was either Butterfly or La Copa De Vida....I seem to remember this one time that Mike and I were playing a versus play...and I like failed all the songs or whatever on Heavy...and he AAed his last stage, so we had an extra one...and he chose La Copa...and I think I might have passed it backwards....so i was like, "If I can pass that backwards, I can do it forwards too."

yup yup....I guess when I think of off beat I think of purple arrows. lol.

I don't know what to call a song with a lot of blue arrows. haha.

Mike and I have done Tears together...I think...or maybe it was True that we did. We've done either one of the two or both. More than likely I haven't passed either yet.

Ha...yeah, something tells me I've done Saints Go Marching...can't think of when it was though. Yeah, Mike says that I should pass Daikenkai...but that song is like so much double stepping, unless there is a handy dandy way of doing it that Mike isn't telling me. lol. Your thoughts Kyler?
A lot of the steps BEFORE the speedup you can do without doublestepping. However, after the speedup and towards the end of the song, trying to not doublestep that section will probably lead to failure. It's a bunch of spinny combinations comparible to End of the Century, if I recall. Sometimes you just gotta doublestep. *insert sad panda face here*
hahaha, I love the *insert sad panda face* thing cuz I used to say that a lot. I dunno, I know I'll eventually get the hang of double stepping. I just don't like it, cuz my speed isn't good. I guess I don't have good reaction time. But I will get the hang of it, because I know that I cannot avoid double stepping. Does Paranoia (just regular Paranoia) have a lot of double stepping? Cuz I tried Paranoia at the Union the other day, and I ended up having to use the bar....and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to double step, or I was just doing it because of the song speed.

I think you were just doing it because of the song speed. You don't have to doublestep any of the 8th note streams. They can all be done with crossovers. You might have to doublestep some of the quarter notes coming out of the crossovers, but that shouldn't be a big deal. Once you get up to speed on reading and reaction time, regular ol' Paranoia will be a good song to practice for crossovers, I think.

I figured it was probably the song speed, and the fact that I hadn't tried it before. I was just randomly browsing through the Paranoias....and the regular one popped up first and it was an 8...so I'm like, hey why not. But I'm just confused about it because I can do Hysteria 2001 on 2x speed and that's at 190bpm....whereas Paranoia is at 180bpm...so I dunno. I just thought that the fact that I was double stepping was like weird.

Boom Boom Dollar on Standard is pretty heard when you're at that level. It was one of the last Standard songs I was able to pass. But at the level you're at now, it should just be a fun crossover fest. But I haven't played it in forever so I don't really know.

Yeah I looked at the stepchart for Boom Boom Dollar...doesn't look that bad at all. I can do simple crossovers...I can do Sobakasu Freckles and Tsugaru. ATM, the only 9s I can pass that I can think of are Tsugaru, Matsuri Japan, and My Summer Love (which I still don't understand why it's a 9...). Oh, and I can pass Irrisistiblement too. For some odd reason I failed it yesterday though. I sucked so bad yesterday. I AAed LCDLV again, but like with 17 or 18 greats? omgwtf?!

I WANT TO PASS RnP SOOOOO BAAAAAD!

I believe MSL was an 8footer back in the day. So was Drop Out though.

Drop Out? An 8 footer at one time? are they CRAZY?! lol. Yeah, I mean, most of the footers are accurate with the respective song...but like My Summer Love only has like one "tricky" part...and it's not that hard at all. I think I could totally AA it pretty soon.

blackcat24 wrote:In my opinion, since I've been doing DDR for about a year and a half now...maybe less. I totally forgot when I started. Needless to say, I can pass the Japan one....and I can pass Tsugaru...those are the only 9s....there might be another one, I can't seem to think of it at the moment.

I want to start passing some of the medium difficulty 9s....and I consider Rhythm and Police to be not the hardest 9, but not the easiest.

I'm also working on some hard 8s. I have an intention to try to pass Waka Laka on Heavy also. If anyone has advice for Waka Laka...that could be cool...preferibly Green Tea after his amazing step chart analysis for Rhythm and Police. Pat on the back for you Green Tea! lol. My boyfriend tells me that Waka Laka is a hard 8, and is harder than a lot of the 9s.
lol, ive been playing for less than a year and i can pass every 9 ive played, and sakura, and i could pass the max songs and the parinoia survivor songs if it werent for stamina issues... :(

Remember, flow like jello and roll like a pillow... or something. Just relax and whatever you do.... START ON YOUR LEFT FOOT. just alternate slowly and you'll have it. Turn your body whatever way your feet are making you.
