In my opinion, doing well on songs is not about physical ability, its about understanding whats going on. KNOWING the rhythms (make yourself a metronome for your brain) is a HUGE help. Stepping a little harder, though it might tire you out a little quicker, will help you keep beat (audible steps, but not stopping). Figuring out where to accent notes (IE Waka Laka/DXY/Stoic/So Deep...EXTREMELY easy once you know the strong beats)
Its really more of a mental approach you should be taking.

True.It really isn't at all. If you notice, I have like.....NO stamina, but am still able to do acceptionally well. But I realized the more you practiced something the better you get at it.
As they say, PRACTICE make perfect. Mental states of mind are all fine and good, but if you've never played a song, and have a mental state of mind like: OMG. I'm SO GONNA PASS THIS. I KNOW IT." without even going through the song at least once, there is definitely no guarantee that you'll pass. In fact, 9 times outta 10, you'll fail within the first 50 seconds.
I guess it's all in how you look at it in the long run.

AHHH! I can pass the song up until 6 lines down of the first column.
Hahaha, I haven't updated in this part for a while, so let me go back and answer everyone's questions or comment on what they had to say.
There's an option on Stepmania where you can slow down the song a bit...to 70% speed...I do this so I can learn the songs better. I still have the notes spaced at 2x, but the song itself slows down. I think that's how to explain it.dance1005 wrote:What exactly do you mean by "60% 70%"...etc? Like how far in the song? Or the speed. Cuz usually people put speed in 1x, 2x, etc but say "rate" after it. Otherwise it's all confuzzling.
yes, this has always been the best method for me. When I was just getting the hang of harder songs, Hysteria 2001 seemed impossible for me...and then I kept doing it and I passed it!!The X wrote:Keep playing whatever song you're working on until you finally get it. It takes time, but it's the best way.

That's what I was talking about when I said the rate thing...look next to the thing you change when you slow it down, and it says rate. I don't understand how you can fail there lol it's exactly the same as before, it's not like there's a change there into a part you can't do or weren't just doing. Wait you mean six rows? Or six of the four-row sections? Cuz there is a change there. But just like the rest of the song, it goes exactly with the melody.

Bars = Measures
Measures = what she's talking about
Its just a little different rhythm. Turn fail off and assist tick on, and listen to it a time or two, it really isn't too difficult after you know how it goes.
I've decided that I'm basically only going to use this site now to post my DDR scores. I feel like a lot of people on the forums do not want me to post anymore...I don't feel welcome here. I want to keep posting my scores to look back on my progress...but if you don't see me post a lot, then whatever...throw a party or whatever. I don't care. All I know is that I don't feel like anyone wants me to post here anymore...so consider this my farewell to IndyDDR.

(I about did the same thing before... but im glad i didnt)blackcat24 wrote:I've decided that I'm basically only going to use this site now to post my DDR scores. I don't know where you got that idea from. But if you're looking for score tracking, might I suggest DD:Recall? They do ITG score tracking as well. That's a much better way to keep track of scores if that's what you're after, but I'd hope you'd still hang around here socially.blackcat24 wrote:All I know is that I don't feel like anyone wants me to post here anymore...so consider this my farewell to IndyDDR.
