The FPS makes me cringe, especially considering your machine is top-tier.

Well, one thing you have to consider is.... most all the gryphon shots were beta events, when everybody logged on to Beta Server 1 and made new characters to get a mount.... there were TONS and TONS of people in the newbie zone where I was, and lag was huge.

Plus, being beta, they have a lot of debugging and information-gathering programs on that take up a lot of resources and stuff on both sides. Performance should get cleared up a little at launch and continually improved over the first months.

By the way, all these shots are on "Balanced" setting, so things could look a lot prettier =P

Devs said it will be an initial 10-20% increase in performance at launch just from turning off debuggers and loggers, then, as with all MMOs, performance will continue to increase throughout the first 6 months, although it's for the most part pretty playable as it stands. Cities still give me some hitching problems though =/
