Taking suggestions for Guitar Hero custom songs

Post by malictus »

Hey guys,

As many of you know, I am IndyDDR's resident Guitar Hero fanatic. I have recently gotten into making 'homebrew' versions of Guitar Hero, which is basically just creating your own song charts for non-Guitar Hero songs, and importing them into the real game via a hacked version of the original disk. (See scorehero.com for explicit details on how to do this.)

So anyway, I'm open for suggestions for songs to make a chart for. Everyone over at scorehero is so metal-obsessed --- not that there's anything wrong with metal, but I'm interested in doing some non-conventional tracks. Maybe some Bemani songs? Any ideas? I'll post any charts I come up with here, along with instructions for making your own homebrew GH disks (it's easy as long as your PS2 can play burned disks).

Oh, and perhaps it's obvious, but if you have any ORIGINAL music you'd like to see in GH, send that my way too!

I'll try to find some and post later. Constant BPM probably helps right?

For more metal:
"Through the Fire and the Flames" by Dragonforce

Unconventional:
Try the Canon D arrangement seen on the famous YouTube video, "guitar."

It's one of the top ten most viewed, and I'm too lazy to link right now. Sorry. >_<

That's like the most famous original file there is for GH right now.

That's a good one; I'm starting on it today.

Yeah, there's a good version of the Dragonforce song out there already. See http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopi ... 64&start=0 for a complete list of custom songs that have been made so far (I think you have to join for that link to work).

I was going to suggest "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi, but since you said you were looking for non-typical GH songs, I didn't.
Also, could you make some Frets on Fire files? That would be rad.
