Ok...point taken well. I didn't know that anything that serious could come from it. I won't be doing it for about another three years now (that'll be when I turn 18). Thanks though for stearing me away from it. ^^ I'll have to talk to him about this now.

That had to be one of the most effective "Oh my god!" inducing things I've seen in a while.
I had an idiot friend who pierced his eyebrow with a safety pin. I noticed a few days later that his eye was ridiculously swollen and last I heard from a friend ( I moved away from there ) he was blind. I don't know if the two are related but still . . .

i love body mods to death but really can't get any because of an uber-conservative family. my friend's sister's boyfriend (wow crazy chain) does tattoos, tho, and i might get the chinese kanji for "true love" on my hip. you can't get something crazy like mastis from tattoos, can you?

I don't think it was random. I think it was because you called her boyfriend an asshole.

I believe your biggest worry with tattoos is that the needle is sterilized, and most places will make a point of changing out the needle, and putting a fresh one in in front of you before doing the tattoo anyway...so, unless you go to someplace dirty, or have your friends brothers uncles second cousins room-mate from tenessee do it in an outhouse, it shouldn't be that big a deal.
Piercings seem to be much easier to get infected and/or cause problems then tattoos, since piercings actually go through the flesh, and a tattoo is only in the skin itself.

Side note: Rating retaliation is improper use of the rating system and is akin to flaming. Whether you think the other person started it or not, it is a direct attack on another forum user. The fact that you posted that you did this only demonstrates that you already knew it was wrong.

Well you were right for a good half of it. The reasons why risk of infection is greater with piercings, is because the aftercare is "harder" then tattoo aftercare. The only real reason why a piercing should get infected is lack of proper aftercare. Also piercings can sometimes reject or migrate due to your body's reaction to the piercing and/or improper placement due to lack of professional piercings. Most of the time the piercing is only irritated not infected. Its only infected if it is warm to the touch and is secreted greenish/brownish...shit.

The only thing that I can think of with tattoos that is weird, is possible allergy reaction to the ink....its rare, but it has known to occur.

And thanks Grubb, and I only 'boo'ed you because you did in fact call my boyfriend an asshole indirectly. I don't appreciate that frankly. I didn't mean to start anything by it.

And thank you Ho.

Pheadra's stuff is really cool, especially the corset thing...but I dunno if I could date a girl that had all that. Not that I'd think any less of her, but it would just drive my subconscious insane.

Well thanks. You do realize the the corset piercings are a temporary piercing and that I dont have them in my back anymore. Im actually considering taking out my cleavage piercings before the year ends due to the fact that they annoy me every now and then. But I still love my mods, and no one can take that away from me.

I dont think I could date a boy that isn't at least interested or intrigued by body mods because I love them so much. I wouldn't expect him to even par take in the modifications themselves, but as long as he respects my wishes then we'd get along.

Sooner or later, hopefully sooner then later I shall do a suspension (hanging from hooks that are hooked into my back.) Just waiting for my piercinger's suspension rack to be ready...I cant wait!! ^_^

While I'm very receptive to body mods one of the main things that makes me squeamish are suspensions.

*shudder*

Hey, if it suits you you might as well, but still...
