I understand some of you may get frustrated with me, but I don't understand how nobody else sees this as an issue. It's not that typing "WWW." is difficult, this problem arises elsewhere.
For example, when I have a PM and get linked from my email, it reads this: ucp.php?i=pm&folder=inbox so again any user would be prompted with a log in screen.
I can not find any other phpBB site that has this bug, nor is it likely that it is designed to malfunction like this. Just trying to help.
Gee...thanks for calling me a liar. I just had Fluffy send me a PM again to test. Here is the email I got (I'm quoting it in a code block so that phpBB doesn't try to interpret the URL at all):
Hello Ho,
You have received a new private message from "Fluffyumpkins" to your account on "IndyDDR.com" with the following subject:
Balderdash!
You can view your new message by clicking on the following link:
http://www.indyddr.com/forums/ucp.php?i=pm&folder=inbox
You have requested that you be notified on this event, remember that you can always choose not to be notified of new messages by changing the appropriate setting in your profile.

Thanks, IndyDDR.com
Outlook is my email client, but I really don't see how that would make any difference.
Go change your e-mail settings while you are logged in at www.indyddr.com, I'm betting the cookie on your system still has just indyddr.com stored in the cookie for e-mail settings.
The phpBB code simply sends the email using the domain that whoever sent the message was using. So, if somebody sends you a message while accessing the site using http://indyddr.com, that's what will be in the email.
(Yes, I tested this a while back when the issue was first raised - I'm not 100% sure how I want to go about fixing it yet, so hold your horses)
A normality test: +++ATH
If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.
