Well just did an arcade raid of Wisconsin Dells, WI. Today. Found 4 machines that were undocumented, and added the ones to the arcade I support as well. Then I decided to rant on Zenius-i-vanisher about how to find arcades and music games. Sigh. I really need to find this thing called sleep more easily.

Riot how was the Marvel tournament?

I was hoping to go up to Arcade Legacy this weekend to watch the tournaments, but got stuck in OT hell at work.

It was okay. The venue was really sketchy lol. It was like in this empty car mechanic building place in Elkhart.... all the Detroit players were there, so you know..... hoopin' and hollerin'. These were the ones there yelling in my ear the whole time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ykAXB3JFy4



I didn't do very well. I went 2-2, but I lost to the people that came in 2nd and 3rd overall out of the 40 or so that entered. I don't know if it's their monitors and stuff or just the fact that I'm so used to online play, but I drop all my bread n' butters. It's super annoying. Oh well, at the end of the day:

Yeah it kinda was. Oh well. I need someone to teach me Vergil or something cheap. I need to probably just drop Akuma cuz mashing shield skills + tatsu, while effective, makes me play worse probably. Spamming that whenever I can for pressure is good but can get me in trouble. I need to learn Doom TAC combos/infinites.

I might hop on the Injustice bandwagon as people seem to like it. It's winning over Capcom fans so I'll try it out.

Well I can't disagree about the colors I guess. Their physics engine always is wonky but you can switch to SF-style controls, back to block, divekicks, parries (some characters), cross-ups, air dashes (some characters), and a bit faster overall. It got more viewers than Marvel at last weekend's stream, but that's probably cuz it's the first major since the game came out.

It's not Marvel fast but it's pretty dang fast for a lot of characters, sans the big grapplers and zoning wars I guess. We'll see how long it survives honestly. I feel like Marvel is on a down slope since it probably won't get any more updates and MorriDoom is too dominating. The metagame has begun to shift to where if you're not playing Morrigan, Vergil, Doom, Magneto or one of those top characters you're probably not going to win.

Well whatever, it was the same players/characters in grand finals and I think the matches might be better in grand finals too. There was a top 4 match between Tom Brady's Aquaman and some dude's Doomsday (a Hulk-like grappler) that was pretty hype too. Might pick up a cheaper used copy soon since there is a gamestop trade in promotion going on.

There are hardly any games being released on these new-ish systems. I'd feel cheated if I bought one of these at retail.
