Also, do you have any rules on signatures, like the size or content?

Again, no specific rules. Just try not to use anything that breaks the flow of the board. So, nothing that's super huge so you have to scroll 2 pages after every one of your posts or causes horizontal scrolling nightmares. Or, nothing that's so large in (data) size that it causes the page to load really slow. Content-wise, just use your judgement. The general "don't be a jerk" rule applies. But since you said you weren't a jerk, you'll probably be fine.

If there's a problem with your signature, a mod will send you a message. It's not too big of a deal.

Okay, thank you so much. Probably the reason I'm asking about rules is because I'm in a bit of hot water at another forum for breaking the rules. I now realise how I was wrong but am now coping with the consequences of my actions. So here I wanted to be very clear on what's allowed and what isn't.

You've piqued my curiosity. May I ask what happened?

I know some forums get pretty picky about rules...but that's often because a lot of people abuse the forum and each other. We've been fortunate here in that, for the most part, people here have been reasonably friendly and easy going, so we haven't had to implement very strict rules. If something comes up that causes a problem, it's usually enough to just let those people know, and it gets fixed. It's often just a misunderstanding or an oversight.

Only on rare occasions have we had people that were intentionally trying to cause trouble and harsher steps had to be taken. But like I said, just don't be a jerk and you'll probably be fine.

Ho: I'd rather not name the forum, but sure I can tell you what happened. Apparently I'm a lot better at spamming than I thought I was, as I spam without even trying to. I guess it has to do with the fact that I'm not one who has a lot to say, but I still want to be in on the conversation. I also tend to go on random tangents, and I guess that didn't fly in a chit-chat thread. I also got in trouble for rule-breaking signatures. I had memorized the size limits wrong.

So now, I can't have a signature until February 28, I'm banned from the chat thread until March 5, I've lost my visitor message and private message privileges until February 12, and I have 6 infraction points, which is 2 points away from a ban. And all this in only three weeks. What the heck is wrong with me???
