Trust me no one wants to buy my machine. The marquee lights are forever broken since the wires to the fluorescent lights were cut, the monitor is going to die any day now, the RTC-RAM on the 573 needs replaced, and the screws need to be completely replaced. I fully expect the machine to just utterly collapse on itself when I try to move it out of Chad's house. The sound speakers and the lights for the most part work pretty well though!

Anyway, I've been itching to play some Did but I legitimately haven't had a chance to since I've been out of town and whatnot. When I get back though I'm probably going to play just about every weekday so I can get my 10,000 Fitbit steps in.

As you probably know from Chad, we all got Fitbits at DyKnow. I haven't opened mine yet because I know it doesn't connect to Windows Phone. I was thinking about selling/exchanging it for a Microsoft Band. I think it looks pretty neat and does more things than the Fitbit, but it's also $100 and a first gen product. The reviews I've read have said it's cool but could use some polish. Like, not as easy as it could/should be to do somethings and that it's kind of bulky. The former might be able to be fixed with updates. The latter...not so much. I guess I'd like to try one out in person.

But it seems like everyone is doing all the social stuff with the Fitbit and I'm guessing I'd be left out of that in Microsoft land. :/ I'll try to give this some legitimate thought over the next few days.

As for DDR...

I haven't played since Hyper Offbeat. Were you going with Chad's choice of D2R for the following week?

How about Silent Hill (3rd Christmas Mix) for this week since it's actually Christmas week AND this is the third year for this thread or something like that.

Welp if it's not compatible with the Windows Phone you can always use the bluetooth dongle that comes with the Shitbit to upload your steps automatically as long as you're near a PC with the dongle attached. My old iPhone 4 could not sync with my Shitbit so I went out and got a iPhone 5s over this last weekend, I technically didn't HAVE to get a new phone and could have just used the dongle but I really just needed a new phone in general and the Shitbit was a convenient excuse.

Brian you have to use a Shitbit, don't you want to connect with your internet friends? DON'T YOU WANT TO BE INTERNET POPULAR? Don't be one of those "Oh I use Google+, oh I use a Jawbone, oh I only use Linux, oh I only drink fair-trade triple distilled nano-brews" pieces of shit. Join the fold and be like everyone else.

I am happy with just going directly to Silent Hill (3rd Christmas Mix) and giving Hyper Eurobeat two weeks to shine as the song of the week. I mean, when it comes to Hyper Eurobeat you could our timing is a little.... off.

I may visit the MICROSHAFT STORE over at the FASCIST MALL to get a look at the Microsoft Band. I want to actually see it in person. The truth is that I have zero NEED for either it or the Fitbit and only minimal INTEREST, but the social aspects of the Fitbit seem like the most interesting thing to me so far, so I'm leaning in that direction.

But I at least want to see the MS thing before I make a decision. I mean, it looks sexy with its screen and the allure of looking like a MAJOR DOUCEHAT NERDFACE for wearing it is appealing. I mean, the only think I can think of that would be even more GEEKTACULAR and say "I GET NO PLAY EVER EXCEPT FOR XBOX" even louder would be Google Glass.

Back to DDR. 2 weeks in the sun for Hypo Strugglebeat and then skip directly to Lupin the 3rd Christmas. Got it.

I played as promised and got my 10,000 steps for the day, 6,000 of which came from DDR itself and the other 4,000 from my standard work shit. Overall the Fitbit was a nice touch and a good motivator for me to play a lot more. Usually I'll play maybe 4 to 5 sets, a round of singles, a round of doubles, a few rounds of whoring out the song of the week, and then play an oni course. With the Fitbit though I played maybe about 9 sets yesterday alternating between singles and doubles until I reached my step goal for the day which overall took about 2 hours to do and it was very reminiscent of the amount of time I'd spend playing at TnT back in the ol' Fort Wayne days.

I played fairly easy sets (mostly 7s and 8s) since I'm still a fatty and each set averaged about 700 Fitbit steps. Interestingly the number of arrows stomped was not a solid 1:1 ratio to the number of Fitbit steps recorded, I would usually have more "DDR" steps than "Fitbit" steps at the end of a set. If I had to guess this is because my wrist doesn't move a whole lot if I get tired and bracket whore the end of a song which I had to do a few times on some of the 9s I played.

I played Silent Hill 3rd Christmas Mix once and got 21 greats, 1 miss, and 48 out of 50 freezes for a score of 537 / 564 (27). My 1P up arrow, specifically the left sensor, is having an issue that I'm going to have to dick around with when I get home today - I don't think my 1 miss came from that particular arrow but I definitely got a few genuine pad misses on some random shit I played on that arrow. I gotta motherfucking play DDR allllllll over again tonight to get my steps!

I totally forgot to play Hyper Eurobeat until I was pretty much done playing yesterday. For my last set I did the Naoki Premium oni course which has Hyper Eurobeat on it, when that song came up I was like, "Oh God damn it I forgot to play this on doubles God damnnnnnn!" -- I'll give it a try tonight.

I intend to play some tonight. It's been a bit since I've played myself. Maybe I'll crack open the Fitbit as well.

BREAKING NEWS! It looks like there is a Fitbit app for Windows Phone afterall! It just doesn't indicate that on the box. With that, my barrier to adoption is essentially eliminated. I guess I'll see y'all on the leaderboards...or whatever. :)

Just got done with playing another long-ass session. I didn't move a whole lot at work so I had to make up for it with an extra set or two of DDR. I want to say I got about 7,000 steps via DDR this evening.

Played Hyper Eurobeat and did absolutely miserable the first time. I swear to God I have no idea how to step this chart and I was double-stepping all over the place. My second time through I still flailed around but I was able to manage a full combo with 20 greats by some miracle - I was very surprised at the results screen.

I still get pretty winded on harder stuff and I stuck to mostly 8s on singles and 7/8s on doubles with all my extra stages being on random. I'm still able to AA shit like Paranoia Rebirth and CSFIL~SM~ so under all this fat there's a decent DDR player in there somewhere.
