Saturday, April 12, 2008. 7pm start.

$5 entry per division:
SpeedMAX
Freestyle

If time allows, there will be a no cost "special" tournament.

SpeedMAX formatwill be determined by number of entrants: Eight or less will result in a 6-round point assignment tournament (win the round, get 8 points down to 1 for losing). More than 8 will operate top cut.

Prizes Per division:
1st: 70% of entries
2nd: 20% of entries
3rd: Greater of 10% of entries or 5 bucks

ALL ENTRIES ARE PUT INTO THE RANDOM PRIZE DRAWING. Prizes can run the gamut from me going out and buying good stuff, Pump merch, or me just handing you random shit I've accumulated that you can throw away. Additional chances can be purchased for the low, low cost of a buck a chance.

Bar allowed because I'm not a dick.

The games in the Den are on free play all weekend. If you want to come up earlier in the day on Saturday to warm up/get used to the pads you're more than welcome to. There isn't JUST pump, there's a mini bowling thing, a couple racing games, a golf game, two pool tables, and a bunch of couches. Also "food" service in the same building.

Greaseball pizza, burgers, fries, chicken. Fast food stuff mostly. Priced expensive.

One week away.

Ho brought something up to me that I should probably address. Namely the start time for the tournament.

I realize it's a late start time, but there's a couple reasons for this. First, the start time is pushed back to later due to the fact that most of the Chicagoland folk work until around 4-5pm. This gives them enough time to get out of work and get down this way.

Second, I have an earlier event to attend that day that I promised my aunt I would take my cousin/godson to. While I don't anticipate being at the event for the full six hours, I do have to drive out to this, go back home, then drive back to the university (unless I can arrange a pickup). That said, the event I'm going to IS open to the public, and should be an interesting one.

This place is having an open house from 10am central to 4pm central. Admission is a buck and they're taking donations/doing a raffle (not-for-profit organization). One of the big draws to these open houses, this one in particular, is that instead of just getting to look at the Wolves, the Bear, the Cougar, the Cyote, and holding the skunk, you get to HOLD AND FEED WOLF CUBS. We're talking pups here.

And believe me, the Cougar acts so much like a house cat some times that it's eerie.

I realize this means any out of town people are going to need to find lodging nearby. Unfortunately, I don't have my own place, or I'd tell everyone to just come over afterwards and crash wherever they want. There are hotels that are a decent distance away from the University (the closest ones also being right by a Brunswick Zone XL with a dedicab). That is unless you're insane and want to drive back the same night, like some michigan people are talking about doing if they come.
